You will need:
- Big slices of triangular bread, white or brown bread depending on your preference - 12
- Green Chutney – 2 Tbsp
- Cucumber, peeled and sliced – 4 small sized
- Sandwich Masala – 4 Tsp
- Potatoes, boiled- peeled- grated – 4 medium sized
- Onions, peeled – thinly sliced – 2 medium sized
- Capsicum, deseeded and thinly sliced – 4 medium sized
- Tomatoes, thinly sliced – 6 medium sized
- Butter for greasing and cooking
First apply 1 Tsp of butter and then a layer of ½ Tsp of green chutney on each slice of bread and keep it aside. Now place few slices of potatoes on each bread. Follow this with placing cucumber and tomato pieces on top of the potatoes. Liberally sprinkle sandwich masala on each layer, i.e. after spreading potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes.
Once you have done this, cover the vegetable topped slices with the remaining slices of buttered and chutneyed bread. Now spread butter on the top of these slices. Once you are done with this, the only part which is remaining is that of grilling the sandwiches.
Take your sandwich maker and pre-heat it. Once the pre-heating is done, grease it using a brush and gently place the sandwich pieces on the griller. Grill these sandwiches, for 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown in color. Be careful while placing the bread slices on the griller, see to it that you do not burn yourself. In the same way grill all the stuffed bread slices in batches. With this recipe you can easily prepare four plates of sandwiches.
Serve the yummy hot sandwiches with tomato sauce and green chutney. Relish this Mumbai style sandwich!
